STUDENT ACTIVITIES AND CLUBS
The Stanley Foster School of Engineering, Innovation, and Design (EID) has a number of programs designed to enrich the rigor of the high school experience by building upon and supporting the schools theme. The Kearny Educational Complex also has school-wide programs, as well as clubs sponsored by the other small schools on campus that benefit the students by allowing them to experience a variety of themes and activities. We encourage students to take an active role in their education. One great way to be active in education is to get involved in EID after-school activities, like one of our clubs on campus. There is a little something for everyone! Check out each club, and decide what's right for you.
FIRST Robotics - Team Hammerheads 1572
FIRST Robotics is an international high school robotics competition for which teams of high school students, coaches, and mentors work during a six-week period to design and build game-playing robots that weigh up to 120 pounds (54 kg). The Kearny Hammer Heads, team 1572, has been competing in the FIRST Robotics since 2005 and has won multiple awards and regional events. Team 1572 is most well-known for the advanced designs and high caliber manufacturing that has become a standard of projects at EID. $50M in scholarships available exclusively to FIRST students for the 2017-2018 school year.

Ladies Leadership
The mission of Ladies Leadership Program is to develop leadership skills and confidence in female students so they can better thrive in STEM related fields. Ladies Leadership encourages the minority of girls at EID to develop a sisterhood as they prepare together for college or career. The program includes field trips, guest speakers from a variety of industries to address topics of concern and community service. Girls visit college campuses, meet with a variety of female engineers, plan a Girl's Engineering Day for elementary and middles school girls, work on healthy eating and fitness as well as develop strong public speaking skills. There is a strong focus on the social, emotional needs of each girl to best develop leaders from the inside out. ACE Mentor Program
The San Diego ACE Mentors meet with students after school each Wednesday to extend work-based learning opportunities. Students work with engineers, architects, and construction managers as they visit professional engineering and architecture offices and job sites. At the end of the school year an awards banquet is held to award scholarships. EID students have been awarded $57,000 for college over the last several years.

Architectural and Design Club
Aspiring architects can pursue their passions in design by participating in design challenges, competitions, and studying architectural styles by impactful designers.

Blue Tech Club
Design, Create, Compete. This club offers opportunities for students to explore marine technology, science and careers. Club members will work on design teams to develop an underwater remotely operated vehicle. Members will be encouraged to enter their ROV in the Long Beach MATE competition (April/May 2017).
