Community Partners

Kearny Engineering, Innovation and Design has a relationship with many groups throughout San Diego that provide real world experiences to the students through, mentors, funding, field trips, supplies, and exclusive opportunities. These relationships help create an authentic learning experience for the students as they develop their post-secondary goals for both college and career.

Architecture, Construction & Engineering

Architecture, Construction & Engineering (ACE) is a group of Industry professionals from the UCSD Medical Redesign team that has adopted CTA as a mentor site. The ACE Mentors of San Diego has mentored students, provided financial support for industry-based projects, and host an annual banquet to recognize students and award scholarships.

Associated General Contractors

Associated General Contractors (AGC) has partnered with CTA to provide students with industry professionals while working in the Advanced Construction class, apprenticeship programs after graduation, as well as support and funding for many of CTA's industry based projects.

Jewish Family Services

Jewish Family Services has collaborated with the Ladies of CTA in order to create a club that meets the needs of the minority of girls attending the school. This partnership provides financial support and a club facilitator that plans guest speakers and community service opportunities.

National Association of Women in Construction

National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) has been a partner with Ladies of CTA for seven years. They are a network of women in the construction industry that are nurturing opportunities for teen age girls to see what career options exist for them in architecture, engineering, and construction. They mentor the girls at a week-long, free, summer camp that focuses on construction trades. NAWIC has also provided field trips for students to go to job sites in San Diego and see construction in progress.

Raytheon

Raytheon Company is a technology and innovation leader specializing in defense, security and civil markets throughout the world. They have partnered with CTA through the "Stand & Deliver" program that offers a one-on-one mentor-tutoring program. Also, Raytheon has helped and supported the CTA Robotics club.

SanDiego State University

CTA has an "MOU" - Memorandum of Understanding - with San Diego State University (SDSU) that allows students to apply for the construction management program. If the students meet a variety of requirements, such as 3.0 GPA and prerequisite industry courses they are guaranteed acceptance into the program.
